modernspring/Stephanie asked: Favourite place you've been on holiday/trip?
the Cherokee KOA in North Carolina. I used to love this place when I was a kid. There's the smell of smoke in the air, mountains in the distance, trees and foothills all around, a small stream you can rent a tube to ride in it, cold weather, etc. Also North Carolina is probably my favorite state, just because of the greenery and foothills and weather.
Alaska. I went there in the summer and this place was so picturesque I would not have thought it was possible in real life. There were streams of water that were literally cyan in color, snow-capped mountains all around, little tiny ice bergs in the ocean that were almost within reaching distance, etc.
Paris. This city just had so much character/charm it was amazing. Dozens of people just hanging out standing around/sitting on the steps near some building, people literally playing chess on the side of the road, etc. (probably a lot of other things I don't remember now, this was about 23 years ago)
I was in Germany for a couple of hours once on a layover (Frankfurt I think), and I just loved the energy of the place. It wasn't something tangible, it was probably the collective emotions/disposition of the people. I've been meaning to go back there someday..
